Clicking/Requesting an Item:
- Overview of item
- Button at bottom to request item
- Auto generates a message to the owner's email linked to EID (“First Name Last Name” requested your “item title”. Contact them at “email address” to set up your giveaway. Make sure to…..[suggested guidelines])
- Once this button is clicked, we hide the item so multiple people don’t request item
- If the initial giveaway did not work, it is up to owner to change their account settings so that we can unhide the item
- Person who requested the item is prompted to report whether the exchange happened successfully or not.
- If successful: permanently delete item
- Else: unhide item and prompt
- If an item has been on the page for 3 months and no one has taken it, message owner in their website account if they’d like to renew item
- If yes: keep item
- If else: remove item (no or hasn’t responded in 48 hours)
Notifications:
- Every time owner or requestor has received a notification in their account (new message, someone has requested your item, etc.) auto-generate and email to their eid account
- “You have a new important notification in your Longhorn Sharing Account! Please click here to view your message.”
