Transfer Credit
PhD Program of Work
The Graduate Advisor may approve a waiver of up to 6 hours (two courses) on the BME PhD program of work for students who matriculate with a master's degree. Coursework is not officially transferred and will not show up on your UT Austin transcript.
To request a PhD program of work waiver, send your master's transcripts and your specific request to the Graduate Advisor at edward.castillo@utexas.edu.Â
- Identify the BME PhD coursework requirement(s) you want reduced and the course(s) you took previously that meet that requirement.
- You may be asked to provide a syllabus for each course.
- Course waiver approvals are kept by the Graduate Administrator. Please ensure they have a copy of your coursework waiver approval for documentation in your student file.Â
Master's Program of Work
Master's degree seeking students may officially transfer coursework taken at other institutions if the courses were not used toward another degree.Â
For assistance with this process, please contact the Graduate Administrator.Â
