Letters and Petitions
The Graduate Administrator prepares letters and petitions for various reasons. If you find yourself in need of a letter or petition, please allow a three business day turnaround time to prepare the letter or petition.Â
Examples of circumstances that may require letters:
- Degree requirement verification
- Internationally residing family invitation to graduation
Examples of circumstances that require petitions:
- Late add/drop of courses
- Late grade status change
- Late registration
- GPA below the 3.0 minimum (or not yet constituted) for academic employment
Letters provided by other offices on campus:
- Verification of employment is provided by the Human Resources Office
- Enrollment certifications are provided by the Registrar's OfficeÂ
- Degree completion letters may be provided by the Graduate School after submission of the dissertation and final paperwork, but before degree certification. Contact gradstudentsvcs@austin.utexas.edu.
