How to upgrade to MacOS Sonoma
You attempted to upgrade to MacOS Sonoma, and administrator credentials were not accepted.
Steps to upgrade your computer to MacOS Sonoma:
This MacOS upgrade can take 30 minutes to an hour. Your computer will restart during the process. Save all your work before starting the upgrade.
- Connect your computer to a power adapter before you start this process.
- Restart your computer to ensure your computer's policies are up to date.
- In the menu bar click the apple icon, then choose Restart.
- Once the log in screen appears enter your UT EID and UT EID password to log in.
- Open Finder.
- Go to your Applications folder.
- Find and open UT Self Service.app
- In the UT Self Service app, choose the Maintenance category, then find Upgrade to Sonoma.
- Click the Start button listed under Upgrade to Sonoma
- You will be prompted to enter your credentials.
- Enter your UT EID and UT EID password.
- A Downloading MacOS window will appear, once the download is complete an Upgrading MacOS window will appear.
- Once the installer is complete your computer will restart.
- The upgrade will start.
- The upgrade will be complete when the log in screen appears.
- Log in to your computer using your UT EID and UT EID password.
