How to upgrade to MacOS Sonoma

You attempted to upgrade to MacOS Sonoma, and administrator credentials were not accepted.

Steps to upgrade your computer to MacOS Sonoma:

This MacOS upgrade can take 30 minutes to an hour. Your computer will restart during the process. Save all your work before starting the upgrade.

1. Connect your computer to a power adapter before you start this process.
2. Restart your computer to ensure your computer's policies are up to date.
   1. In the menu bar click the apple  icon, then choose Restart.
3. Once the log in screen appears enter your UT EID and UT EID password to log in.
4. Open Finder.
5. Go to your Applications folder.
6. Find and open UT Self Service.app
7. In the UT Self Service app, choose the Maintenance category, then find Upgrade to Sonoma.
8. Click the Start button listed under Upgrade to Sonoma
   
   
   
   
9. You will be prompted to enter your credentials.
   
   
10. Enter your UT EID and UT EID password.
11. A Downloading MacOS window will appear, once the download is complete an Upgrading MacOS window will appear.
    
    
    
    
12. Once the installer is complete your computer will restart.
13. The upgrade will start.
14. The upgrade will be complete when the log in screen appears.
15. Log in to your computer using your UT EID and UT EID password.
