CMB 4.130 TV Program Control Room - Recording a Production
There are three main recording devices in the PCR
Program Record (SD card)
Program Record Backup (SD card)
Foshcam Record - Multiviewer (SD card)

The recorders are set to record as H.264 - High (8-bit 4:2:0 video) NOTE: At 1080i 59.94, a one hour video will be approximately 40-50Mbps and around 18-22GB in size.
To start a recording, press the RED REC button on the front panel of the recording unit. Verify the timecode is running and the recording started. |

To stop a recording, press the BLUE STOP button on the front of the recording unit. | Program Record - Stop Recording

Repeat these steps for the Program Record (backup recording) and the Foshcam Record - Multiviewer. Press record on all three recording devices for each show.
NOTE: You may not need to retrieve show files from the Program Record (Backup recording), but recording on this backup for each show will help ensure a show gets recorded barring any unforeseen issues with the main Program Record recording. This is simply a BACKUP recording.

Once the show has concluded and the recording has been stopped you can use the On Air Remote Mac to retrieve the footage from the SD card.
Use the SD card / USB Hub located on top of the recorders to access the files on the SD card.
Log into the On Air Remote Mac to access the files on the card. From here you can copy the file(s) to an external HD, upload to UT Box, Canvas, etc… |

After successfully retrieving the recorded show file(s), clear the SD card for the next show.From the On Air Remote Mac, drag all the clips on the SD card to trash and empty the trash. This will clear the card for the next recording.
DON’T FORGET to clear the BACKUP Recording’s SD Card. Just because you did not need to access the files on the BACKUP RECORDING, DO NOT forget to clear the SD card of the files that were recorded. | Drag all the video files to the trash, and empty the trash |
Format the SD Cards
To format the SD cards: Press the Menu button Turn the knob to navigate through the menus. |

When you see the screen - Storage press the Set button | s

Press the RED (Start/Stop) button on the front of the unit labeled PGM RECORDER/STREAMER to start streaming/recording.
Confirm that you want to START, by using the same RED (joystick) button to navigate to YES (default), and press the button in. This will begin STREAMING and RECORDING at the same time.
Repeat this step with the Foshcam Recorder if you want to also record/stream the MultiViewer.
To Stream ONLY: Simply press the RED (Start/Stop) button without inserting a USB Flash drive into the PGM RECORD USB slot. Click through the "error" informing you that you do not have a any media inserted. Navigate to YES (default), and press in. USB flash drives must be formatted as FAT 32 or NTFS (Windows)

Once the recording has stopped, insert the USB flash drive(s) into the USB port labeled UPLOAD TO REMOTE MAC DESKTOP. Now log in to the Remote Mac Desktop to access the flash drive that has been mounted on the desktop. You can now access the recording(s) on the USB flash drive. |
2. Stream to YouTube and Record (to USB) web-ready H.264 with the PGM Streamer/Recorder |

You can stream Live to YouTube and record to a USB flash drive simultaneously.
Stream and Record the On-Air PROGRAM with the PGM Recorder/Streamer. Stream and Record the MultiViewer (Foshcam) with the FOSHCAM Recorder/Streamer.
To STREAM and RECORD the On-AIr PROGRAM: Insert a flash drive into the PGM RECORD USB insert on the front of the rack. (USB flash drives are attached to the front of the rack).
To STREAM and RECORD Foshcam (MultiViewer): Insert a flash drive into the FOSHCAM RECORD USB insert on the front of the rack. (USB flash drives are attached to the front of the rack).

3. Record On-Air Program using the H.264 PGM Recorder |

As a third backup recording you can also record an H.264 web-ready .MP4 file of the On-Air Program using the H.264 PGM Recorder.
Insert a USB flash drive and press the YELLOW button. The light on the unit will flash blue while recording. To stop the recording press the YELLOW button again. It will flash blue/green while the recorded file being processed. It will be solid blue once the recording is ready.
Once the recording has completed: Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port labeled UPLOAD TO REMOTE MAC DESKTOP, then log in to that computer to access the recorded file on the USB flash drive. |
