- EDP Course Scheduler will send an email to Area Chairs, faculty and students in advance of Advising, with dates and deadlines. Advising begins the day after the UT Course Schedule for an upcoming semester is published.
- Course Schedule published online by Registrar.
- Students update their Program of Work, view the Course Schedule to determine classes, and chat with you and/or their faculty mentor about plans.
- Student fills out Advising Form online
- Area Chair / CE/SSP Program Directors get an automatic email for each submitted Advising Form. Click Approve or Reject button. (Alternatively, you can review and approve forms in the Approvals Portal)
- Students are automatically notified of approval or rejection via email.
- If student needs to make changes, they must submit a new form.
- You can view the list of approved forms online
Important Notes
- If approving Advising Forms via email vs. the Approvals Portal, only use the Outlook app or Outlook Webmail.
- *If this is your first time using the Approval Portal, please input your UT email and it will redirect you to the UT login page where you log in with your usual UT EID/email and EID password.
- Never forward a form approval email to another person or student, as this can break the approval process - send any questions about an Advising Form via a separate email.
- Students must submit separate forms for Summer and Fall.
- Advising Forms are required for all EDP students, even if only taking dissertation/internship.
