    Part of the integral mission of the College of Liberal Arts Office of Research & Scholarship is to communicate the value of our research and scholarship to the entire college, university and the world. To that end, we take a proactive role in disseminating announcements about new achievements among our faculty members, principal investigators and researchers.

    Each month, three recognition notices are featured prominently on the Research & Scholarship website. From that same page, all new announcements are linked, along with all archived announcements which continue to be accessible.

     

     WHAT WE DISSEMINATE

    The CoLA Office of Research & Scholarship (CORS) promotes achievements that are of a research and/or scholarly nature, typically for the purpose of highlighting faculty activities. Notification is submitted by Department Chair and/or Department Manager only. To provide clarity, below are the types of announcements we typically publish.

    Up-Coming Books

    External Fellowship Winners

    For forthcoming books to be announced, they should already have received confirmation from the publisher. Please provide one of the following to your chair:

    • Link to book announcement

    • Publisher name, date book comes out

    • Dept or faculty link to book information

    Announcements about recipients of external faculty fellowships require some kind of formalized link or confirmation from the foundation/funder. Please provide one of the following to your chair:

    • Link to funder’s announcement

    • Official recipient list

    • Funder award documentation

    New Projects / Funding

    Honorifics & Prizes

    New project and new funding announcements (no renewals of the same project and no student projects). A notice of award needs to have been issued in order to publish. Please provide one of the following to your chair:

    • Official notice of award (link or document)

    • Announcement link

    Best paper/book award, conferral of prestigious status or membership in renown organizations, honorable mentions within highly competitive proceedings, etc. Please provide one of the following to your chair:

    • Official notice

    • Announcement link

     WHAT WE DON’T DISSEMINATE

    • Renewals of active projects

    • Non-recent announcements

    • Student grants & achievements

    • Non-CoLA faculty announcements

     SELECTION PROCESS

    The CoLA Office of Research & Scholarship is committed to sharing the accomplishments of our esteemed faculty members, principal investigators and researchers. Regrettably, we are unable to publish all notices. The Senior Associate Dean for Research determines the selection criteria. If you know of a recent achievement that has not been reported, please notify your department chair or Department Manager.
