Setting Up Remote Desktop for Windows
- From the Windows search box type “Remote Desktop Connection” and press the Enter key.
- The remote desktop connection client will open. Click on the Show Options to display more settings options.
- Enter the following information:
- Computer: Enter the name of the project server.
- User name: Enter your project server username.
- If you are accessing a PRC Project Server, your username, password, and server address are stored at https://stache.utexas.edu.
- Save the remote connection by selecting “Save As.” Name the file as the server name and click save. Save the file to your desktop for easy access.
- You should see a desktop icon. Double click the icon to start your remote session.
- You will see a connection warning. Click “Don’t ask me again for the connections to this computer” and click Connect.
- Next, Enter your project server password.
- You may see a certificate warning, you can ignore the message. Click “Don’t ask me again for the connections to this computer” and click Yes. The remote session will start and connect you to the server.
