Overall Condition
Provides general, at-a-glance, condition statement.
Term | Scope |
---|---|
Excellent | no notable issues |
Good | some minor changes in condition, or accretions, dust, etc. which would not require conservation assessment |
Fair | more obvious condition issues which could warrant conservation assessment, but the object is still viable for display |
Poor | significant condition issues which require a conservation assessment to determine whether work is viable for display, or at risk of more serious deterioration |
Treatment Priority
General indication of urgency or priority level as a candidate for treatment
Term | Scope |
---|---|
None | for works in excellent condition |
Low | for works in good condition, which might require a cleaning or monitoring for changing condition |
Medium | for works in fair condition which might need minor conservation or cleaning prior to display |
High | work needs conservation for preservation of at-risk objects to restore or or prevent further deterioration |
