Steps to set up Studio 4B for a Reporting Texas TV broadcast
Set up microphones and IFBs
Move studio cameras into position
Move news desk into position
Set up Studio Floor Monitor, prepare Green Screen, and turn on monitors and lights
Set up Microphones
Locate the Microphones and IFBs in the brown cabinet. The proctor at the desk on CMB 4 can unlock the brown cabinet where the microphone and IFB kits are located. |

*Check batteries before inserting into microphone belt pack
Insert two AA batteries into each microphone belt pack

If not already inserted. Plug the mini-XLR mic into the belt pack. |

Turn on the mic by flipping the switch on the top of the microphone to the ON position.
Assist anchor with putting on the microphone |

Set up IFBs
*Check batteries before inserting into microphone belt pack
Insert two AA batteries into the IFB belt pack |

Insert the earpiece into the PHONES jack on the IFB belt pack |
|
Turn the knob on the top of the belt pack to the ON position |
|
Give a cleaning wipe to the anchor and assist them with putting on the IFB
|

Set up Cameras and ClearCom Headsets
CamerasMove cameras into position Move the cameras from behind the side of the set and remove the plastic covers for each camera.
Place the cameras from left to right as you are looking at the set. Camera 1 goes near the green screen wall. Camera 2 goes in the middle. Camera 3 goes near the wall with the AV racks. |

Turn on cameras. The power switch to the camera is on the left side of the camera. |

Set up for White Balance
Locate the white balance card and easel stored behind the set near the cameras. Place the card on the easel just behind the news desk in the location where the anchors sit. During white balancing you will need to zoom each camera all the way to the card until the white card fills up the entire field of view. The staff in the control room will perform the white balance function. Once complete you can return the white balance card and easel and store it behind the set. |

ClearCom Headsets
The headsets are located in a create stored in the brown cabinet. Each ClearCom consist of: a belt pack, a headset, and an XLR audio cable.

Plug the Headset into the XLR jack on the belt pack labeled HEADSET. |

Plug the female end of the XLR cable into one of the XLR jacks labeled INTERCOM on the belt pack. |

Plug the other end of the XLR cable into the INTERCOM jack on the camera. |

Floor Manager’s Clear Com
The floor manager’s belt back plugs into the AV rack labeled INTERCOM.
The XLR cable is located in the cabinet and is hanging on a hook. |

Put batteries in IFB and Lav packs for on air talent
Turn on Lights and green screen lights understand how to switch lighting
Pull Rolling Monitor out from behind the news set

Remove plastic covers fold and store and Pull 3 Cameras out from behind the news set and place in position Camera 1, 2 and 3
Turn on monitors with Crestron touch panel
Turn on the power on all 3 cameras

The Floor Managers Clear Com headset plugs in here at the AV rack
The XLR Connection is labeled INTERCOM |

Move the curtains out of the way in order to see the green screen
Roll the news desk out put it in position to hit the orange marks on the floor
Plug the desk in make sure it turns on
After the show remove batteries put back Lavs and IFB
Turn off Lights and green screen lights
Pull Rolling Monitor out from behind the news set
Turn off the power on all 3 cameras
Put Cameras back behind the news set and put plastic covers back on
Turn off monitors with Crestron touch panel and roll the monitor back behind the news set
Clear Com headsets unplug the XLR cables and headsets and store back in the milk crate in the brown cabinet
Put back easel and store behind the news set
Move the curtains back out of the way of the projection screen
Unplug the news desk and roll the news desk back out of the way
Train the next person
