Guide for MPH Students
This is a one-page guide for Dell Medical School students completing the MD/MPH dual degree program at the UT School of Public Health. The School of Public Health is a different entity from UT and Dell Medical School, so there are some unique processes and considerations. Please read on or click through the topics below.
Permission Form
Since the School of Public Health (SPH) is a separate entity, you will need to sign a permission form allowing us to communicate with them about your student records. This form is due in the summer before you begin the MPH program. Download the fillable form, e-sign it, and return it to the MS3 Coordinator.
Tuition
The Dell Medical School tuition that you pay to UT Austin will go toward the MPH degree. In August, Dell Medical School submits a tuition sponsorship form for each MPH student which will cover the MPH tuition. If you incorrectly receive a tuition bill from the School of Public Health (SPH), please contact your MS3 Coordinator.
Registration & Grades
Unlike dual degree students at UT Austin, you will be able to register yourself for courses in their student information system and you will be able to see your grades there also.
Grades from your MPH courses will not appear on your UT Austin transcript. You will receive a separate transcript from the School of Public Health when you graduate.
WebEx
The School of Public Health (SPH) uses WebEx for their online/blended web-based courses. UT Austin uses Zoom, so you will need to be versed in both platforms.
Diploma
You will receive a separate diploma from the School of Public Health once you graduate and both degrees are conferred (after MS4).
