Setup Additional Email Account in Outlook (Shared Mailbox)


WINDOWS 10 Instructions: 

  1.  Open Outlook. Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.

   

 2. Under the Email tab, select New 

 


3. Enter the Email Address for the shared mailbox 

       a. For Office 2019: 

          i. Type in the email address for the shared mailbox and click Connect 


     ii.  Change the username/email to your own UT email address and enter your EID password. Make sure to check the box for “Remember my credentials”! 


   iii. Un-check the box for “Set up Outlook mobile” and click OK 

    iv. You may need to restart Outlook for the shared mailbox to appear on the left side of Outlook under your main UT email address 

         b. For Office 2013/2016 

              i. For “Email Address”, type the email address for the shared mailbox. Leave the “Your Name” and “Password” fields blank, and click Next 



         ii. When entering the credentials to the shared mailbox, change the email to your own UT email address and enter your EID password. Make sure to check the box for “Remember my credentials”! 


     iii. You should get the below screen with 3 green checkmarks for each task. Click Finish 

     iv. Click OK when you see the prompt below 

    v. You may need to restart Outlook for the shared mailbox to appear on the left side of Outlook under your main UT email address 



MAC Instructions: 

  1. Open Outlook
  2. From the Tools menu, select Accounts
  3. In the Accounts dialog box, click the small plus sign (in the lower-left corner of the dialog box), then select New Account. A “Set Up Your Email” dialog box will open.
  4. For Email, enter the email address of the resource and Click Continue. A UT branded authentication dialog box will open with the resource account's email address displayed.
  5. Change the email address to your own EID. This is where users most frequently make a mistake. Be sure to change this address.
  6. For Password, enter the password you use with your EID.
  7. Click Sign in. You'll see a success screen where you can click Add Another Account or Done. Repeat steps 4-8 if adding additional accounts.
  8. Close the Accounts dialog box.
