Facilities (WORQS) Request

For Staff:

To submit a WORQS request email the SLC Admin with "WORQS" in the subject line, be sure to include the following:

  • Summary of the issue - feel free to include photos
  • Location
  • Days/Times that location can NOT be accessed (scheduled LS appointments, etc)


For Admin use:

WORQS is an online tool for requesting and tracking facilities-related maintenance, service, or installation. Facilities Services supports & maintains UT Austin's physical environment. The Business Applications Team working alongside Technology Resources facilitates Facilities Services' efforts by managing and administering various information systems for WORQS. **For non-routine, emergency facilities needs, call 512-471-2020. View what constitutes an "Emergency" in the chart below, along with expected response and completion times.

How to Submit a Request

  1. Click on the above link to go to the WORQs home page. If you are not logged in, it will prompt you to log in with your UT EID.
  2. Click the orange "Begin New Request" button on the right of your screen.
  3. The two most utilized requests are "Maintenance Requests" and "Service Requests". When you click on each, a list of example requests will populate. Choose the one that matches your request, and click the orange "Start Request" button. If you have trouble, click the "Help me choose!" link below the button.
  4. Next, on your "Maintenance Request Form" fill out each of the following fields:
    • Site: Click "Search Site List" and Select "UT Main Campus (UTM)".
    • Building: Type in "JES", Click "Search Building List", and Select "Beauford H. Jester Center".
    • Floor: Click "Search Floor List" and Select "03".
    • Room: Click here to find the exact room number - JES Floor Plan or click "Floor Plans" on the "Maintenance Request" page. Find the room number, then return to your maintenance request to enter the full room number.
    • Category: Select the category that best fits your request.
    • Procedure: Click "Search Procedure List". A list will populate here, based on the Category you selected. Select the Procedure that best fits your request. If you do not see the Procedure, select a different Category.
    • Work Request Description: Type a brief, descriptive note explaining the request/need.
    • Dates/Times Work Cannot be Done in a Location: Only enter a date/time, if necessary. This is not required.
  5. Skip "Alternate Contact Information".
  6. Review your request and then click "Submit Request".

How Check the Status of a Request

  1. Click on the above link to go to the WORQs home page. If you are not logged in, it will prompt you to log in with you UT EID.
  2. Click the orange "View my requests" button on the right of your screen.
  3. All of your past and current requests should populate.
  4. The "Status" will be listed on the far right.
