Final Exam FAQ

Why didn't I get my meeting room?
Either:

  1. You didn’t request your meeting room during exam reporting.
  2. You moved exam periods and your meeting room wasn’t available.
  3. Your enrollment dropped significantly and you have less than 10% of the room filled with students.

How are final exam rooms decided?
Rooms are assigned in this priority order:

  1. Meeting room requested.
  2. Double seating requested.
  3. Continuous writing surfaces, or other media requirements requested.
  4. Any remaining exam that had no special request.

Exceptions:

  • There are instances where we cannot accommodate both double seating and continuous writing surfaces.
  • There are rare instances where the meeting room cannot be assigned. If you notice this is the case, please contact your departmental final exam scheduler.

I don't like my default final exam period. Can I switch periods?
During reporting period, you are able to switch final exam periods without any permissions. Once reporting is closed, you will need dean approval to move periods. Contact your departmental final exam scheduler and we will work with them during that process.

A student in my class has a conflict with my exam even though I'm in my default period. How’s this possible and what do they do?
Either your class or the conflicting class changed exam periods. Whoever did is responsible for accommodating the student with a make-up exam. Whichever department is responsible must contact their final exam scheduler so they can set up the make-up exam.

Can I have a makeup exam?
If you have a uniform final exam, a makeup exam will be scheduled automatically. If you have a regular exam and you have extenuating circumstances with students in your class, contact your departmental final exam scheduler about the possibility of a makeup.
