Pre-flight instructions for Interactive Computing session

Background

We are going to use a new TACC application called 'idev' to get Interactive Access to a computing node on Lonestar. We'll go into depth about how to use idev this afternoon, but for now, please do the following before heading to lunch.

1. Open a NEW terminal window connection to Lonestar

ssh username@lonestar.tacc.utexas.edu

2. Enter the following command at the prompt

echo "StrictHostKeyChecking no" >> ~/.ssh/config

3. Launch an idev session that lasts 3 hours

idev -m 180 -q normal
