Mac OS X - connection to fileserver is slow

If one notices that the upload or download speed from or to our file server becomes very slow, it is because of the SMB implementation on OS X. This issue has been resolved in Mavericks.

Open Terminal and run the following command using an admin account:

“sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0”

This is not persistent and will need to be run each time the computer is rebooted.
