AVID - Syncing Video and Audio With Matching Timecode

Tools for sync-ing double-system audio with picture.
On Set if you used the "Smart Slate" using this wiki and have matching timecode on the Image and Sound files then you can use timecode to AutoSync your footage

Make sure the timecode on the image and sound files matchOn each bin choose to show the column that has the starting and ending timecode Select the bin with the Video files and right click on the top portion of the bin and choose >Choose Column >Start and >End to show the starting and ending timecode | |
Select the bin with the Audio files and right click on the top portion of the bin and choose >Choose Column >Start and >End to show the starting and ending timecode Do both the timecodes appear to be in the same timecode range? See this example | |
Do the same with the bin with Video files so that both start and end timecode is displayed | |
Compare the Sound Start and end timecode | |
To the Image Start and end timecode See they are similar that is good that means that the timecode matched and the AutoSync with timecode should work If the timecode is not in the same range and is drastically different then the AutoSync by timecode won't work. | |

Hold down the Alt/Option key while dragging the files from both image and sound bins to the Sync Temp folder so a copy of both are in the sync bin Make sure you didn't move the clps you just made a copy | |
Select ALL the clips in the SYNC TEMP bin, and right click. Select “AutoSync”. | |
Choose "Source Timecode" You can choose to keep audio on clips with video up to 16 tracks Same choices for audio only clips you can choose what tracks you wanna include up to 16 tracks Select "OK". This will create a new subclip with synced video and sound. | |
You can rename it and put it in a new bin make copies and etc. . . . | |
Create a new bin called "SYNCED CLIPS" at the same level as your VIDEO and AUDIO bins. Click and drag your new subclips from the “SYNC TEMP” bin to the new “SYNCED CLIPS” bin or whatever you want. . . Delete the remaining clips from the “SYNC TEMP” bin. Repeat this process until you have synced all of your clips |
