Promote an iSchool Event
Web & Communications Support
The iSchool's Web-Comms team, led by the Director of Communications, manages the iSchool's digital displays, website, newsletters, and social media accounts. Web-comms supports promotion of any event that:
is sponsored by the iSchool or an iSchool student organization, or
is sponsored by another organization but prominently features an iSchooler at the event (such as a faculty member headlining a research panel)
If your event doesn't meet the requirements for promotional support from the web-comms team, you may still share events that you think would be of interest to the iSchool community via our listservs or by tagging the iSchool's social media accounts.
Submit Your Event to the iSchool's Web Calendar & Digital Displays
iSchool events are listed on the iSchool website under About > News & Events. You can view the event calendar here.
Submit: To submit an event for publication on the iSchool's event calendar, you must fill out the webform:
Media: If you have a graphic that you want included on the event listing or added to the digital display rotation in the iSchool buildings, you may upload it in the media section of the form. Graphics must be 1920x1080px in order to be added to the display rotation.
Note: To prevent spam and ensure only current iSchoolers post events to the calendar, you will need to log into the site with your UT EID before submitting the webform: https://www.ischool.utexas.edu/user
Did you know?
All events that are listed on the iSchool's event calendar are automatically included in the weekly email newsletter under the "Upcoming iSchool Events" section! The weekly newsletter is sent every Thursday morning at 11:00 am during the fall and spring semesters so as long as the event is submitted by Tuesday prior to the newsletter's scheduled dispatch it will be included in the events listing.
Request a Promotional Graphic for an Event
If you do not have a graphic for your event, the web-comms team may be able to create one for you. Due to limited bandwidth, the web-comms team can currently only offer this service to staff and faculty whose event meets the promotional requirements listed above.
Request: To request a graphic from one of our designers, please submit this form:
Deadline: Note that the completion deadline for the request must be at least five business days after the date of submission. We can typically accommodate your request sooner than the deadline, but not always, depending on the availability of our designers.
Review & Approval: Once the design is drafted, you will receive an email from the designer with the graphic for your review. Once approved, the graphic will be added to the event listing on the website and/or the digital display rotation.
