Valuations
Valuation Purpose
Select valuation description from the drop-down list:
Stated Date
Enter date of appraisal, or date of correspondence when value was provided. This can be date of email correspondence, formal appraisal dates, or the date entered into TMS for internal estimates.
Value Steps
Enter valuation in Currency value (on the right), select Currency type (US Dollars, etc.), then click the magic wand above “local value” to populate the valuation field on the left.
Value Source
Search for constituent to link the source of the valuation. This field is required to validate information for insurance audits.
Make sure to mark the undiscounted price as the current value instead of a discounted value.
Use notes for any relevant information.

Insurance value | provided by lending institution or for shipments |
Purchase price | priced paid by BMA |
Undiscounted price | value of work purchased prior to any museum discount |
Value of duplicate work | for editioned works |
Value of similar work | based on value of comparable works by the artist |
