Random Thoughts/Questions
-Sticking to Wet layup instead of infusion molding except for smaller parts.
-There was discussion about frame and aeroshell being built over the summer.
-Have a conversation with Ester
-2nd Year we have new members, They won't have that much work because of our timeline, what will those members do?
-We kinda know what we are doing for daybreak. Lots of aeroshell stuff.
-Are we doing Tilting Mechanism for Daybreak
-Want as many people from both teams to come to the SRR and PDR as possible
—---
Grievances
-Doesn’t account for onboarding
-January Mech Design Freeze -> Timeline serves us
-January Design freeze may be to early
-Creates a sense of urgency and instills the fact that designs need to be relatively final
-With a timeline this short -> people need to put in a lot of hours
-Frame Materials ordered too early? Should be designing jigs at the same time as building
People could be too busy during finals week.
-SRR to PDR is too short
-SRR is too short
-What about daybreak?
-Timeline does not involve Daybreak which could cause time mismatching
-We might have some free time around NOV near CDr
SRR,PDR, CDR
Srr- System Requirements Review
Go over what system requirements and quantitative requirements our systems need. Some selection of components that need to be selected early. Not everything needs to be selected
Give an overview of where you are headed over the year. Show that goals for your system are the same as the goal set for the car. System cultural goals. Worries for the year. Subsystems also set their goals. Review issues you had in the previous cycle and what you would do about that?
PDR- Preliminary Design Review
All components selected. Vague CAD
CDR
Critical Design Review
Make sure we are making our targets, Critical Decisions.
//Both Documents should be aligned with the official documents we would send
New Timeline
SRR- September 22nd
PDR- November 2nd
CDR- Week of 12/4
Order Foam Mold 12/21
Mech Design Freeze 1/26
Order Frame 2/1
Demold Bottom Shell 4/13
//How about we go about this timeline and reevaluate later
//Do not want to go into a 3 year cycle
//The idea was mentioned
