  • First week of August
    • Teachers send an intro letter and start scheduling family meetings with parents/guardians to get goals for children for the year and to learn about child's strengths and challenges
    • Family meetings - this is separate from home visits, without child present. These can be on Zoom, more efficient. Grown-ups only!
  • Second week of August
    • Usually home visits. Home Visits are typically in-person, NAEYC requirement
      • The child will show you around
      • Sarah - good to take a photo of the child, maybe with their favorite thing to put in their cubby for the first day. Also, can update their picture in Kaymbu.
    • If family is uncomfortable - how could we come and make you feel comfortable, meeting outdoors, etc.
  • Third week of August
    • Classroom setup, planning and prep
    • GAs start 8/13 - many new GAs
    • School visits for children, small groups (2-3 families at a time) for short time (20-30 minutes)
    • Schedule for Wednesday/Friday
    • Coordinate siblings with other MTs for school visits and gradual entry
    • Shared doc w/ siblings for schedule
    • Family Get Acquainted Night
      • about 30 minutes, in-person, adults only. Get familiar with classroom. We can provide snacks if you let us know in advance.
