Discussion items
New siblings
- If a child in your class has a new sibling come into the family, you can grab a board book from Amy's office. There is a sheet to keep track on who was given books so that we don't double up or forget families.
- If the family has more than one child in the Lab School, the teacher of the youngest child will get the book for the family.
Safety and Stuff
- Amy is sending out and email about reminders not to stay after school around the playground. She will send alternative locations to play. She will emphasis to share this with all caregivers who pick up children (nannies)!
- This email will also include the slamming of the handicap button, dancing on the air vent, running, supervision, etc.
Fall Garden Celebration
- To help get family buy-in for the OC and to show that it's more than recess, we are going to bring the outdoors inside!
- The OC Lab Collab group could decorate the lobby with outdoor creations from each classroom (posters, pumpkins, pictures)
- Teacher can give creations to Emily by Friday (Lab Collab meeting), but it isn't required. Anytime after that is fine too! The lobby should be decorated for the last week or two of fall semester.
Annoying Office Stuff
- Child attendance has been lackluster, going back to paper attendance in the spring! Here's what I drew up for everyone if you wanted a peek or to give feedback. Keeping toddler classes on one page per physical room in order to save the trees.
- If you do not have access to that sheet, it means you do not have a utexas business account! Please submit an IT ticket here. Tell them that your account is not a student/alumni account, but it is a business account. If you need to free up space or anything, let me know and we can put something on the calendar!
- Late pickup - let me know ASAP if any children are being kept late. We charge for frequent late pickups. Right at noon or 4:30pm, you should bring any remaining children to admin. Here's our typical schedules.
- Observers going back to observe before observation times! Lily will keep an eye on them. Check booth before pre/post conference.
Research
- Tillman lab starts 11/7. They may be in your classrooms (2 research assistants at a time). They will have unique name tags so you know who they are.
- Spring 2023, Amy and Nicole will have a research study come through that requires more work from MTs than normal (they will be leaving the classroom with the children). Nicole will probably treat us to a lunch at the end of the semester!
Playground Restoration and Reminders
- Make sure the playground is ready for the next group
- Go over expectations with all groups
- Down the slide only, no up the slide
- No shovels in the river, blurring the lines between sand and water.
