HubSpot

Quick summary
1. HubSpot has a lot of great tools such a CRM, creating and managing email campaigns,
gathering data from forms, and lead management.
2. There is a lot of training and materials already out there, such as HubSpot Academy.
3. Be careful of valuable features being behind a paid tier.
4. Although there are a lot of tools, you don’t have to use everything on the platform. Each
individual tool is powerful. However, if your client is only using one or two features, it’s
worth it to do your research on competitors. They might do the functions you need in a
much simpler fashion.

Pros
• Great at improving user/participant intake process.
o implement smart forms with conditional questions and email marketing
• See what programs a participant had previously signed up for.
o every time a participant submitted a form, a contact was created under their
email address
• Easy to navigate importing contacts and creating new integrated contacts
• Utilizes the following features: forms, the meeting scheduler, and emails.
o lot of different features for a lot of different use cases
• Great at managing customers and their data
• If you need to be able to see history with a customer (last email or last interaction with
the client), HubSpot does this really well with little to no custom configuration.
• Great with newsletters as it simply imports all of the emails, they have access to and
create an email in a simple drag-and-drop manner.
• sheer amount of documentation and support with HubSpot Academy and easy-to-follow
guides for each of their tools, as well as an online forum

Cons
• too advanced and overkill for a client with low technical background
o Client needs time to adjust with the platform and needs to see value in solution
with business mission and overall business objectives
o If you feel like your client will never make use of any of their additional features,
it might not be worth going with the platform.
• HubSpot’s free tier is great, but they do have some specific features hidden behind a
paid tier.
o An example of this is conditional questions on a form. Many other form
platforms have this for free, however, HubSpot has this hidden behind a paid
     subscription.
o Caution: the plans and subscription tiers may have changed since the writing of
this in April 2023, so do your research!
▪ The point here is other platforms may be able to fulfill your client’s
current and future needs without the need to pay or manage
unnecessary overhead, so keep this in mind!
