E.1 Dossier Preparation

Candidates should familiarize themselves with these Guidelines and any other written guidelines provided by the department and/or college/school and consult with the department chair and/or dean about the relative responsibilities for compiling the required information. Candidates have the discretion to include any additional materials that they believe are relevant to the promotion or tenure decision in the dossier [Section G.12(r)].

Candidates are required to use the naming conventions established by the Faculty Affairs team in the Provost’s Office for all files and folders included in the dossier. This document will be posted on the 2024-25 Promotion and Tenure website.

Candidates with joint appointments of at least 30% should prepare Sections G.1 through G.12 of their dossier in accordance with these guidelines and any additional requirements from their primary academic unit.

  • If their secondary academic unit requires additional materials, those must be included in the dossier [Section G.12(q)].
