E.4 List of External Reviewers

When prompted, the candidate must provide the department or college/school with a list of potential external reviewers who satisfy the criteria to provide evaluative letters for the promotion dossier [Section D.10(a)].

The candidate shall review the list of individuals selected by the department chair/dean before the potential reviewers are contacted. Candidates may express concerns about any reviewers on the list to the department chair (or dean) before the stated deadline (a minimum of two business days after receiving the reviewers’ names). The candidate may also include a statement in the dossier (Section G.11) to document their concerns about the external reviewers selected.

The candidate has the option of requesting that the department chair/dean solicit letters from close collaborators. These letters, if received, are included in the dossier in Section G.12(n).
