Jamf Connect - Configuring Switching Users
- Katelyn Russell
For use cases where multiple users may need to use a single Mac you may see an issue where a users can "walk" way or lock the Mac. Bu default this will cause the Lock Screen to show only that users profile. To change users in this state a hard reboot of the Mac would be needed to allow another user to log in.
To avoid this issue you can configure your Macs to allow user switching. This setting will have two impacts on the machine. The first will be an icon in the menu bar near the clock. This can be used for fast switching from within the users desktop view. The second will be a "switch user" button on the Lock Screen.
If this setting is used in combination with Jamf Connect, selecting the "Switch user" from Lock Screen, or picking a user from the desktop view will take you to the Jamf Connect Login window.
To Enable this for your users via Jamf Pro you will need to create a Configuration Profile, or modify an existing one.
The payload for this setting can be set in Computers → Configuration Profile → Login Window → Enable fast user switching
